Robotic voicemail message said “ I would be taken into custody by the local cops”. Uh-please! They actually said the words “cops”: not police or law enforcement but “cops” which is a slang term. Losers. If somebody wants to arrest me, they will find me and not robocall me.
Claiming to be from the IRS. Said a law suit has been filed against you and an arrest warrant has been issued. You must call immediately. Since the IRS does not do this, this is obviously a dangerous scam
CALLED AT 1:50 PM ON A THURSDAY AFTERNOON. i AM IN CALIF. THIS IS A NEW YORK NUMBER.
WHEN i ANSWERED, THEY HUNG UP. WHEN I CALLED BACK, A RECORDING STATED IT WAS A CALL THAT COULD NOT COMPLETED AS DIALED. most likely a scammer with a roll-over number so that you can't trace them.
They say they are not the IRS but they are the investigative Bureau for the IRS and then when I asked them who they were calling for they said you need to state your name and address I said no you called me so you need to tell me who you're looking for
